Welcome to 'All Things Cutty' which is a blog dedicated to smokers and collectors of clay and meerschaum 'cutty' tobacco pipes. Over the years I have posted literally hundreds of posts on the subject of these pipes. Any of you who know me will have divined by now that I am a dedicated 'cutty' pipe smoker as well as a one man advertising campaign for the wonders of Condor Plug tobacco. On this blog I will discuss the history of some of these pipes and especially the carvers who produced them in the short period between 1875 and the out break of the Great War in 1914. The fact that so many have survived is a true testament to the functional and durability of the design and the care that was lavished on these pipes.
